desktopx error
Published on May 8, 2006 By Pmsrefugee In Theme Manager
I loaded Oxidized and tweaked some of the desktopx object settings so the icons change with mouse over. I then open Theme Manager and try to the theme, but if I try to restore the theme I get this error "the file format you have passed for desktopx is not valid." I've tried having Desktopx in both the builder mode and the client mode, but always get the same error. How do I save my desktop once I get it setup the way I want? Pmsrefugee

SO DO I!

I am not sure that Pmsrefugee and noah05 are still around (although if you are, please feel free to join in the investigation into this problem).

Purrdy: Are you just having a problem loading the DesktopX Theme through ThemeManager then? What happens if you simply attempt to load it by itself (by double clicking)?

DesktopX Themes (These are specific types of objects) have a .desktop extension and will not be recognized by ThemeManager otherwise.

Ok. Simple question. I too have run into the same problem. Theme manager will not recognize the DesktopX theme file I make using DesktopX Builder. How do I ensure it will recognize it?

BigDogBigFeet: Would you be able to post the DesktopX Theme file somewhere and include a URL here so I can download it?

Loading using DX Builder is no trouble!

When I create a suite in Theme Manager, It loads everything but the 'invalid' DX Theme?

I say 'use current Desktop' when creating a Suite.

What I do now is save the DX Theme then make notes for the other elements such as WB/OD/Rainy etc in the box above the 'save theme as'.

Thanks Mike for getting back to me. The theme is a .desktop file. I don't use any upload sites, but I can send it to you in email and let you look at it that way.

BigDogBigFeet: I have sent you a response. Once I get the DX Theme, I will hopefully be able to figure out what is going wrong.

Purrdy: Would you be able to upload your DX Theme somewhere and include a URL to download it here, or would you prefer to work through this via email as well?
